Live Sport : Tottenham vs man united Premier LeagueMatthijs de Ligt’s goal in the 96th minute canceled out Richarlison’s seemingly decisive strike in the 91st, as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United played out a dramatic 2–2 draw in North London on Saturday. In this repeat of May’s Europa League final, it appeared that Rúben Amorim’s improving side would come out on top when Bryan Mbeumo scored in the 32nd minute against his former Brentford coach, Thomas Frank. Spurs fans voiced their frustration at halftime, as the team had managed only three home league wins in 2025. However, the hosts turned the tide, with substitute Mathys Tel equalizing in the 84th minute. When Richarlison deflected Wilson Odobert’s fierce shot into the net in the first minute of stoppage time, it seemed that Frank was finally about to earn his first major home victory in five months as head coach. But home celebrations were short-lived, as in the sixth minute of added time, De Ligt rose to head home from a corner, earning United a 2–2 draw and extending Amorim’s unbeaten run to five matches. Seven players from each team had also featured in that Europa League final night in Bilbao. United arrived in London in strong form after a difficult September under Amorim, while Tottenham were still seeking their first home league win since August. Mbeumo looked threatening early on, despite being caught offside twice, but Spurs should have taken the lead in the 17th minute. Young Xavi Simons set up Brennan Johnson, who cut inside and delivered a superb left-footed cross — only for Richarlison to send the ball wide off his shoulder. It was a golden chance, and just five minutes later, another Brazilian forward, Matheus Cunha, came close as well. Cunha beat Cristian Romero to enter the box, but Pape Sarr deflected his shot out for a corner. Chances remained limited until the 32nd minute, when Amad Diallo broke the deadlock. A careless pass from Sarr put Micky van de Ven under pressure, allowing the visitors to regain possession. Amad then played in Mbeumo, who escaped Pedro Porro and headed the ball over Vicario to score. When Spurs finally attacked, Johnson and then Porro wasted opportunities with poor crosses, drawing boos from sections of the crowd at halftime. The hosts woke up after the break. Substitute Odobert crossed to Romero, whose backheel effort was brilliantly saved by Janis Lämens. Just a minute later, in the 56th, Lämens also denied João Palhinha’s half-volley. Amorim then brought on Benjamin Šeško, and Spurs did get the ball in the net, but Johnson was flagged offside. Thomas Frank responded by introducing Destiny Udogie, and in the 70th minute, after United captain Bruno Fernandes fired over, fans expressed frustration at Xavi’s substitution. Frank’s joy soon returned when his substitutes combined for a goal: Odobert found Udogie, whose cross reached Tel, and the young forward smashed a fine shot into the top corner six minutes from time. When Šeško went off injured, leaving United down to ten men, home fans sensed victory. Their hopes soared as Richarlison deflected Odobert’s cross into the net, sending the stadium into raptures. But Amorim’s men struck in true “Fergie Time,” as De Ligt outjumped Rodrigo Bentancur to head home Bruno Fernandes’ corner past Vicario, rescuing a point for United. [...] Read more...

Sahibzada Farhan – A Power Hitter Who Needs More Than Big ShotsThe year 2025 has been the most important one for Sahibzada Farhan in T20 Internationals. For the first time, he got a consistent run and scored 580 runs at a strike rate of 129. But when we look closely at the numbers, there’s an interesting — and slightly worrying — pattern: 380 runs came off just 77 balls, including 36 sixes and 41 fours. The remaining 200 runs took 477 balls to score. This clearly shows that while Farhan is brilliant when the boundaries are flowing, he struggles badly when they aren’t. There are two key issues in his batting: 1. Poor strike rotation – He finds it hard to take singles and keep the scoreboard moving. 2. Weak ball placement – Most of his ground shots go straight to fielders, resulting in too many dot balls and rising pressure. In T20 cricket, boundaries matter — but the ability to rotate strike is just as crucial. Right now, Farhan’s explosive hitting is covering up these weaknesses, but once teams start analyzing his aerial shots and set better fields, scoring will become much harder for him. Sahibzada Farhan earned his place in the national team through outstanding domestic performances. He’s a clean striker and capable of playing match-winning knocks. However, it’s time for him to go beyond just power hitting. He should spend more time reviewing his full innings, identifying flaws in shot placement and rotation, and improving his overall game — instead of just uploading short clips on social media. Australia’s Historic Win: India’s 17-Year Streak at the MCG Finally BrokenOn October 31, 2025, cricket fans witnessed a memorable night at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as Australia defeated India by four wickets in the second T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. But this wasn’t just any win — it ended India’s 17-year unbeaten T20I record at the MCG, making it a night to remember in cricket history. First Innings: India’s Collapse and Abhishek Sharma’s Lone Fight India won the toss and chose to bat first — a decision that quickly backfired. The Australian bowlers, led by the ever-reliable Josh Hazlewood, tore through India’s top order with clinical precision. His outstanding spell of 3 wickets for just 13 runs left India struggling from the start. Hazlewood bowled a dream opening over, clean bowling Yashasvi Jaiswal and setting the tone for the innings. Soon after, Suryakumar Yadav and Ruturaj Gaikwad followed, leaving India reeling at 35 for 3. But one man stood firm — Abhishek Sharma. The young left-hander played a fearless and attacking knock of 68 runs off 37 balls, hitting six fours and four massive sixes. His confidence and aggression gave India some hope and entertained the crowd with flashes of brilliance. Unfortunately, support from the other end was missing. Australia’s spinners — Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis — tightened their grip in the middle overs, and wickets kept falling. India’s innings folded for just 125 runs in 19 overs, a total that was clearly below par on a batting-friendly MCG pitch. Australia’s Chase: Power, Composure, and Travis Head’s Brilliance Chasing 126 looked simple on paper, but India’s bowlers fought hard early on. Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh bowled disciplined spells with the new ball. However, Travis Head had other ideas. The left-hander attacked from the very first over, playing with freedom and aggression. His 46 off just 26 balls — including five fours and three sixes — made sure Australia’s chase stayed on track. India tried to claw back through their champion bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who picked up two important wickets for 26 runs and briefly gave his team hope. Washington Sundar also dismissed Mitchell Marsh, but by then, Australia had built enough momentum. In the end, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis calmly guided Australia home in just 13.2 overs, sealing a comfortable win and breaking India’s long-standing record at the venue. Turning Point: Josh Hazlewood’s Spell Without a doubt, the turning point of the match was Josh Hazlewood’s opening spell. His accuracy, movement, and ability to find the perfect length made life miserable for Indian batters. The MCG pitch usually favors batsmen, but Hazlewood turned it into a bowler’s paradise. His control and discipline created pressure that India never recovered from — a masterclass in fast bowling that paved the way for Australia’s win.   India’s Lessons and the Road Ahead This loss exposed several issues in India’s setup — especially in the middle order, which failed to provide stability once again. Despite Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant knock, the rest of the batting lineup collapsed without resistance. Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ruturaj Gaikwad couldn’t capitalize on their starts, while the lower order offered little support. In bowling, Bumrah and Siraj impressed with their effort, but India’s spinners struggled to contain the Australians. If India wants to bounce back in the remaining matches, they’ll need to fix their batting combinations and rethink their spin strategy. A Symbolic Victory for Australia Australia’s win was not just a victory in numbers — it was a symbolic triumph. Ending India’s 17-year unbeaten run at the MCG is no small feat. It showed the depth, discipline, and determination in the Australian side. Hazlewood’s bowling, Head’s explosive batting, and the team’s collective composure turned this into a statement win. For India, it was a reminder that in cricket, no record is permanent. Every streak eventually meets its end — and on this night, that end came under the bright lights of Melbourne. Australia’s Fast Bowlers Crush India for 136 in Rain-Hit Perth ODIPerth, Sunday: The first One Day International (ODI) between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth turned into a nightmare for Indian batsmen. Heavy rain caused multiple interruptions, and the match was reduced to 26 overs per side. Taking full advantage of the damp pitch, Australia’s fast bowlers completely dominated and bowled India out for just 136 runs. Rain and Pitch Conditions Because of the rain, the pitch stayed damp and offered plenty of swing and seam movement. The Australian pace trio — Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins — bowled with great skill, making life extremely difficult for India’s top order. The ball was moving sharply, and Indian batters struggled to adjust. India’s Innings – A Struggle from the Start India won the toss and decided to bat first — a decision that backfired badly. Captain Rohit Sharma, playing his 500th international match, scored only 8 runs before being bowled by Starc. Next ball, Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck, beaten by a brilliant inswinger that shattered his stumps. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer tried to rebuild, but Cummins and Hazlewood kept tight pressure. KL Rahul was the only batsman to show some resistance, scoring 38 runs with three boundaries. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy impressed with two powerful sixes, showing good intent. However, the rest of the batting lineup collapsed, and India finished at 136 for 9 in 26 overs, with one player not batting due to the weather delay. Australian Bowlers on Fire Mitchell Starc: 3 wickets for 19 runs in 5 overs Josh Hazlewood: 2 wickets with excellent control Pat Cummins: 2 wickets, bowled with great accuracy Adam Zampa: Took 1 wicket with spin Together, they completely dismantled India’s batting order.   Australia’s Chase Under Lights Australia began their chase under floodlights at night. The pitch had eased a bit, and openers David Warner and Travis Head started aggressively, putting pressure on the Indian bowlers. With a small target of 137 runs, Australia looked set for a comfortable win to start the series on a strong note. Bad Bunny brings Puerto Rican pride to the Super Bowl amid MAGA backlashBad Bunny during the final concert of his summer residency at the Coliseo de San Juan, in Puerto Rico, on September 20, 2025. Alejandro Granadillo/AP On a Puerto Rican beach, the setting sun filters through the strands of his “pava” (the island’s traditional peasant hat). Perched atop an American football goalpost, Bad Bunny casts a defiant look at the camera. Behind it, one can imagine all the Trump supporters already irritated by the announcement on Instagram. On February 8, the Latin rap and reggaeton star will take the stage at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, in the San Francisco Bay Area, for the iconic Super Bowl halftime show. In doing so, he will propel his native island even further onto the global stage. “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” the artist said on Sunday, September 28, after the National Football League (NFL) announced his selection. “This is for my people, my culture, and our history.” On a stage previously graced by Madonna, Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny will be the first Latino artist to headline the most coveted 15 minutes in American television – he previously made a brief appearance alongside other artists in 2020. At 31, all the success in the world has not made Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio forget his roots. His three Grammys have not changed anything. Nor has his status as the most-streamed artist globally on Spotify for three consecutive years (2020-2022). Zidane’s son Luca receives first call-up for AlgeriaAtletico Madrid’s Angel Correa in action with Rayo Vallecano’s Luca Zidane, in Madrid, Spain, on January 2, 2022 Susana Vera / Reuters French football legend Zinédine Zidane’s son Luca was called up by Algeria for the first time on Thursday, October 2, with the team close to qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in North America. Luca Zidane, a 27-year-old goalkeeper, has represented France at the youth level before, but never for the senior national team, and is eligible for Algeria through his father’s family ties. FIFA approved a change of national eligibility two weeks ago for Zidane, who once played at Real Madrid when his father was coach there. He is now with the Spanish second-division team Granada. Algeria team coach Vladimir Petkovic picked Zidane in a 26-player squad for qualifying games against Somalia on October 9 and Uganda five days later. Algeria leads the qualifying group by four points, and a win in either game would send the team to the World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. Algeria has played in four men’s World Cups and reached the round of 16 at its last appearance in 2014. Zinedine Zidane played in three World Cups for France, winning the 1998 title at home and losing the final in 2006. The world with ap Reuse this content [...] Read more...

Didier Deschamps, constrained by absences, summons Jean-Philippe Mateta for the first time in the French teamFrench striker Jean-Philippe Mateta in a match of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games against Spain, August 9, 2024, in Paris. Franck Fife / AFP It has become a habit, of which Didier Deschamps would go well. The coach of the French male football team presented, Thursday, October 2, his list of 23 players for the next matches of the Qualifying Cup for the 2026 World Cup, in front of plug the holes. After being confronted with a hecatombe in defense, in June, then several absences in September, the boss of the Blues still had to compose with a series of packages, in particular in attack, before the meetings against Azerbaijan, on October 10 at the Parc des Princes, in Paris, then against Iceland, on 13, in Reykjavik. After an ideal beginnings thanks to two victories against Ukraine (2-0) and Iceland (2-1), these two meetings must allow its troops to take an additional step towards the planetary tournament organized in the United States, Canada and Mexico (from June 11 to July 19, 2026). In the offensive sector, the unavailability cascade is impressive. It concerns the recent Ballon d’Or, Ousmane Dembélé, and Désiré Doué, still convalescent after their injuries that occurred against Ukraine, on September 5, which had aroused strong tensions between their Paris Saint-Germain club and the supervision of the Habs. To these unavailability were added those of Marcus Thuram, hit in the left thigh during the victory of Inter Milan against Slavia Prague (3-0) on Tuesday, and Randal Kolo Muani, who recoveries a crutch and only played 13 minutes with his new Tottenham club. “Each time there are more or less constraints (…) Inevitably, with longer injured or new, this leads to reflections ”recognized Didier Deschamps. The latter therefore had to rethink its offensive sector, retaining the Monegasque Maghnes Akliouche and the Al-Nassr striker, in Arabia-Saudi, Kingsley Coman, who had already participated in the last rally and has a beautiful experience in blue (59 selections, 8 goals). However, the real surprise of this list is due to the summons of Jean-Philippe Mateta, called for the very first time. At 28, the Crystal Palace striker digitally replaces Marcus Thuram as a center forward. The one who started professional in Châteauroux had shone during the Olympic Games in the summer of 2024, scoring five goals, and had largely contributed to the vice-champion of the team then trained by Thierry Henry. Didier Deschamps praised the profile ” interesting “ of this athletic player, who has “Known all youth selections” and has a “Ability to score goals”. He scored four in ten games, all competitions combined, since the start of the season with the London team. Arrived at AC Milan, after a difficult passage to Chelsea, the ex-Parisian did not “Not been spared from injuries, but he has significant potential”observed the boss of the Blues. “” I am convinced of the potential and capacity of this player ”he said, saying having “Trust in him”. Hugo Ekitike, who made promising beginnings in Liverpool, and Le Parisien Bradley Barcola are also in this list. Back from William Saliba in Defense On the other hand, despite the noises that ran on his possible summons, Florian Thauvin was not called. Author of a good start to the season with Lens, the 2018 world champion, aged 32, will still have to wait to make his return to the Blues, six years after his last invitation, in June 2019. At the time, he had scored against Andorra (4-0), his only goal in ten selections. In the midfield, Didier Deschamps must fill the absence of Aurélien Tchouaméni, suspended two games for the red card received against Iceland. Alongside AS Roma player, Manu Koné, who quickly established himself in the midfield of the Blues in recovery, and Adrien Rabiot, already at ease at AC Milan, where he arrived this summer from Marseille, the boss of the Blues chose Khephren Thuram, author of a good start to the season at Juventus Turin, as well as Eduardo Camavanga. Injured at the end of last season, the latter returned to the competition and even scored during the Real Madrid victory in Almaty (5-0) on Tuesday in the Champions League. In defense, Didier Deschamps can finally be delighted to count on the return of William Saliba. Wounded a month ago and also forfeited in June, the Arsenal player finally returns to train the central hinge with Dayot Upamecano, new boss of the tricolor rear guard in recent months. Both will be responsible for solidifying a gaming sector which was once the great strong point of the Blues, but now constitutes its main weak point, as the five goals conceded in particular in front of Spain, at the beginning of June (defeat of the Blues 5-4). The list of 23 selected players: Guards : Lucas Chevalier, Mike Maignan, Brice Samba Defenders : Lucas Digne, Malo Gusto, Lucas Hernandez, Théo Hernandez, Ibrahima Konaté, Jules Koundé, William Saliba, Dayot Upamecano Circles : Eduardo Camavonga, Manu Koné, Michael Olise, Adrien Rabiot, Khephren Thuram Attackers : Maghnes Akliouche, Bradley Barcola, Kingsley Coman, Hugo Ekitike, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Kylian Mbappé, Christopher Nkunku Alexandre Lemarié Reuse this content [...] Read more...

PSG win 2-1 at Barcelona in Champions LeaguePSG’s Gonçalo Ramos celebrates after scoring his side’s second goal with PSG’s Lucas Hernandez during the Champions League match between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain, on October 1, 2025. EMILIO MORENATTI / AP Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain stunned Barcelona with a 90th-minute Gonçalo Ramos winner to claim a 2-1 away victory in the league stage on Wednesday, October 1. Ferran Torres sent hosts Barcelona ahead with a cool finish but Senny Mayulu fired a depleted PSG level before half-time. “After scoring the (first) goal we got a confidence boost and in the second half we were better,” Luis Enrique told reporters. “I’m happy… because it’s an important victory and playing against Barcelona is always difficult.” It was an even and thoroughly entertaining bout between two of the competition’s favorites at Olympic Stadium, which was eventually settled by Ramos’ late strike, as PSG exploited Barça’s high defensive line. Hansi Flick selected Torres over veteran striker Robert Lewandowski and also benched Ronald Araujo for Eric Garcia, after the Uruguayan’s red card against PSG in 2024. It was lacking several key players and his team held on at times but eventually got the better of last season’s semi-finalists. Barcelona and PSG have not been on the best of terms over the past decade, with the Catalans recording one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the game in 2017 with a 6-1 win over the Parisians. PSG snatching Neymar and going on to sign all-time Barça great Lionel Messi worsened relations, starting an enthralling battle with PSG’s left-back. Yamal created the first clear chance with a sensational pass using the outside of his boot to send Torres through. Barcelona took the lead in the 19th minute after Yamal and Pedri combined quickly and Torres slotted home from Marcus Rashford’s quick first-time pass. On loan from Manchester United, Rashford has created goals in each of his last four Barcelona appearances. After half an hour PSG started to grow into the game and forced Wojciech Szczęsny into his first save, tipping Achraf Hakimi’s free-kick around the post. Marauding Mendes After half an hour, PSG started to be felled by a desperate Frenkie de Jong. It showed the defender’s pace was the best way to hurt Barça and Mendes repeated the trick to set up the equalizer. Mendes ripped into Barça territory and Pau Cubarsí misjudged a lunge to try and cut out his pass for 19-year-old striker Mayulu, who beat Szczesny from just inside the area in the 38th minute. PSG were fortunate Mendes was not issued a second yellow for felling Yamal in full flow on the edge of the box as the pendulum swung back the other way. Dani Olmo’s shot was cleared off the line by Hakimi and PSG’s Kang-in Lee curled against the post as the clock ticked down in an even second half. Rashid Latif says Gautam Gambhir is mixing politics with cricket after not getting a BJP ticketFormer Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif has claimed that the recent incident, where Indian players avoided shaking hands with Pakistani players, was actually planned under the instructions of Indian coach Gautam Gambhir. According to Latif, this was not just about cricket — politics was involved. He explained that Gambhir had asked for a ticket from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the previous elections, but he did not get it. Now, with elections coming up again, Gambhir is trying hard to please the BJP leadership so he can secure a ticket next time. As part of this plan, he put pressure on the young Indian players not to shake hands with Pakistan’s team, in order to show loyalty to the party’s hardline stance. Latif added that if senior stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were still part of the team, Gambhir would never have dared to take such a step. Both Kohli and Rohit, he said, have great sportsmanship and high character, and they would never accept such behavior. These players believe in keeping politics away from sports and always promote respect through cricket. He further said that since the current Indian team is mostly made up of junior players, Gambhir saw an opportunity to use them for his political goals. The young players could not resist the coach’s pressure, and the unfortunate incident took place, which damaged the spirit of the game. Latif concluded by saying that politics should never enter sports. Cricket is meant to bring people closer, not to divide them. If the game is used for personal or political interests, it will lose its real purpose and beauty. [...] Read more...

In Dubai, during the hearing, there was an interesting conversation between Haris Rauf and Sahibzada FarhanDuring a hearing in Dubai, an interesting exchange took place when Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf was questioned about his “0-6 gesture.” The match referee began by asking: “Can you explain what that gesture meant?” Haris Rauf smiled calmly and replied: “Why don’t you tell me what ‘0-6’ could possibly mean? It’s not even a standard cricket term.” Hearing this, a few people in the room chuckled, but the referee stayed silent. At this point, Richie Richardson stepped in and said: “Look, you made that gesture several times. The Indian board believes it pointed towards something else, and that’s why they have raised an objection.” Haris responded with confidence: “If the Indian board has an issue, then they should explain what they think it meant. As far as I’m concerned, my intention was clear—I only did it to entertain the fans. If someone wants to give it another meaning, that’s their imagination, not mine.” Richardson then added: “It seems like your gesture was not just for the fans, but was hinting at something else.” Haris firmly replied: “Stop making assumptions. Either you or the Indian board should tell me exactly what I was referring to. If you have proof, bring it forward. Otherwise, questions based only on guesswork don’t make sense.” The referee pressed further: “If it was so unimportant, then why did you repeat it so many times?” Haris explained in a confident tone: “It was just like when players clap or signal the crowd to cheer louder. My only purpose was to add energy to the stadium atmosphere. Nothing personal, nothing political. This is cricket, not politics.” At this point, Sahibzada Farhan also spoke up in his teammate’s defense: “We are players. Our job is to keep the game exciting, not to get involved in controversies. Connecting with fans and making them happy is part of the sport. Looking at it from any other angle is unfair.” In the end, despite some tense moments, the hearing concluded smoothly. Haris Rauf once again made it clear that his “0-6” gesture was meant only for the cricket fans—and nothing more. [...] Read more...
