São Paulo went through tense moments, but managed to secure their spot in the Libertadores quarterfinals. On Tuesday night (19th), Tricolor defeated Atlético Nacional 4-3 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Once again, just like in the first leg, goalkeeper Rafael was the main protagonist. He saved the Colombians’ first penalty and gave the team confidence during the shootout.
The goalkeeper did not hide his joy at qualifying and praised the team’s confidence in the penalty shootout: “We trained a lot.”
