We’re through the first two weeks of NFL preseason and chances are your fantasy football draft is fast approaching. You’ve been digesting plenty of Yahoo rankings and checking in on our draft kit to get the latest analysis. But you’re still itching to get more of an advantage over your opponents. Not to worry, we’ve got a full recap of Harmon’s AMA, where he answered fantasy football questions from Yahoo Fantasy Plus subscribers who are preparing for the season.

Question: My half-PPR league is always taking RBs early and I have the first pick in the draft. I like Ja’Marr Chase more than Bijan Robinson but I’m scared about losing out on positional value since I feel like it’s easier to find WRs later in the draft. What should I do?

Answer: Total personal preference there. Both great options that I have ranked first and second overall. If you wanna take Bijan, I won’t talk you out of it.

Question: My long-time, 10-team friends and family league is finally interested in going Superflex. Is there really a difference between SF and 2 QB since everyone will likely play a QB at the Superflex spot anyway? Also, what is the optimal positional setup for a Superflex league, in your opinion?

Answer: You are almost certainly going to end up playing the QB there for sure. However, I like it more bc then if there are injuries or bye week chaos, you can at least drop someone in the flex spot if you’re out of QBs and not take the 0. I like to grab one elite QB and then try to play a couple options in the Superflex spot.

Question: I’m in a full-PPR, 12-team league (1QB), drafting seventh. I think that I can exploit this spot to gain an edge at a non-WR/RB position, so what strategy has the most upside this year: drafting Brock Bowers/Trey McBride in Round 2 and waiting on QB or drafting a top-four QB in Round 3 and waiting on TE? Or is it to grab both and fill in the gaps at WR/RB later?

Answer: I’ve personally been opting to take the elite QB in Round 3, don’t love the other options in that round, over elite TE in Round 2.

Question: Should Bengals QB Joe Burrow be going top five in Superflex drafts?

Answer: Yes, I think all of the top-five QBs should be taken top five in SF but then there’s a dropoff and that’s where the RB/WR picks should come in.

Question: How does it look for Jets RB Breece Hall and Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr.? I have them in my 10-team Half-PPR Superflex league.

Answer: It looks pretty bad for B-Rob. Maybe he gets bailed out with a good landing spot via trade but the floor is strikingly low now. I’d probably not draft him at this moment.

Question: With the news about Daniel Jones being named the Colts’ starting QB, what do you think the fantasy football outlook is for QB Anthony Richardson moving forward?

Answer: He will be useful if/when he plays. And there’s next to no shot Jones holds that job all season. Richardson should probably be rostered in Superflex and 2QB but not in other formats. QB is so deep and he’s not a good enough passer for me to be that sold on the top-10 ceiling others imagine.

Question: Do you think QB Jaxson Dart takes over the starting job for the Giants this season and what does he look like scoring-wise if so?

Answer: He will get starts this year. I’ve been looking at Week 7 after a TNF game against the Eagles so they have that “mini-bye” to get him ready. Their schedule is brutal this year, but they have to get him ready at some point. I don’t see him being anything more than a QB2 candidate in Superflex but is a better runner than credited.

Question: I’m drafting at pick No. 5 in a 12-team, Half-PPR league. Thinking of taking Justin Jefferson or one of the top RBs if they fall to me. What’s a good general draft strategy from where I’m picking?

Answer: If all of the top three backs are gone, then yes, I’m looking at JJ in that spot. Next highest ranked RB for me is Christian McCaffrey, so gotta be open to risk there of course. I think that middle of each round will provide good options to make sure you get two RBs in the first four rounds.

Question: Who are your top sleeper RBs and WRs in deep leagues?

Answer: Panthers WR Jalen Coker is my favorite true deep sleeper at WR. Good player in a potentially ascending offense. For RB, Jets RB Braelon Allen still goes well outside the top-120 picks, same with Commanders rookie RB Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt, too. Bills RB Ray Davis if anything ever happens to James Cook.

Question: In most mock drafts that I’ve done this year I’ve had a decent amount of RBs fall to me in Round 3. Should I avoid drafting RBs in the first two rounds?

Answer: Depends who is on the board at each of your picks. I don’t love my teams that don’t have at least one RB through those two rounds and I think there is a dropoff after Round 4 or 5 at the position.

Question: I plan on taking Bijan Robinson with the 1.01 in a 14-team league. Who do I target at the 2/3 turn? Half-PPR, by the way.

Answer: I’d look at Ladd McConkey or A.J. Brown at WR if they’re there. Chase Brown is a smash as your RB2 if available. If I don’t love the RB or WR options I’m very happy taking one of the top-three QBs.

Question: Are you concerned about Bijan potentially not catching a lot of passes due to Falcons QB Michael Penix’s tendencies?

Answer: Actually, I think that because Penix isn’t a scrambler (just four in three games last year) he’ll get to those checkdowns to Bijan pretty often.

Question: Do you think Brandon Aiyuk’s injury, since it was so bad, will hamper his ability to do what makes him special? Short-term for this season and long-term for his career?

Answer: I don’t expect to see Aiyuk at his best until the very end of this season, if not even into 2026. Multi-ligament tear midseason like that is brutal

Question: Interesting, I usually wait to go after a QB. When you go for a QB early who do you usually target for TE?

Answer: TUCKER KRAFT BABY.
