Von Miller shares which games from his Texas A&M career still stand out to him

Must read

One of the better players to come out of Texas A&M in recent times is By Miller. Before building a Pro Football Hall of Fame career, Miller enjoyed three seasons in College Station. And two games he played in with the Aggies stand out more than others.

First, Miller pointed to a win against Oklahola during his senior season. At the time, OU was ranked inside the top 10. Two weeks later, another highly ranked opponent came to Kyle Field in Nebraska — Miller’s final home game. A defensive masterclass from start to finish, Miller remembers how emotional he was after the victory.

“Two wins that always stand out to me,” Miller said via Glory Daze w/ Johnny Manziel. “That Oklahoma win my senior year, 2010. And that Nebraska game. No offensive touchdowns were scored that game. The final score was 9-6. It went all the way down to the wire. I remember crying and Cyrus (Gray) was crying, we were hugging. We sawed off the horns at the end and I was ugly face. Everybody was so emotional after that game so that would have to be one of my favorite games for sure.”

Any defensive end is going to love a defensive showdown. A total of 15 points being scored is almost unheard of in today’s college football. Especially when all of them are via the field goal.

Miller made a massive impact against Nebraska. His six tackles were good enough for fifth-most on the day but as usual, it’s what Miller did in the backfield. Two sacks and two tackles for a loss really helped Texas A&M get the game across the finish line.

The Oklahoma game found a little more offense, finishing with the final score of 33-19. You can probably guess it but Miller was a force there as well. Two weeks prior to the Nebraska win, Miller put eight total tackles on the stat sheet alongside three TFLs and 1.5 sacks.

It was all part of a six-game winning streak Texas A&M went on to close out the regular season. Three previous losses could have derailed the year but instead, the Aggies found a way to gather a 9-3 record. A Cotton Bowl loss to LSUone Miller did play in, despite eventually turning into No. 2 overall pick of the Denver Broncos, ended the year. However, Miller will forever remember taking down quality Oklahoma and Nebraska teams.
