COMMITMENT: 5-star safety commits to Auburn

Must read

Five-star Bralan WomackRivals.com’s No. 1-ranked safety in the country, has committed to Auburn.

Womack, who attends Hartfield Academy in Brandon, Miss., announced his decision Thursday night. He chose Auburn over Ohio State, Florida and Texas A&M, among others.

“Auburn is home,” Womack said. “I’ve been here a good bit. I know my way around. No GPS needed. I lot of people call it ‘God’s Country’ and I see why.”

Womack certainly is familiar with the Plains. His sister, Ma’Nia, plays softball for Auburn. He’s visited “probably 50 times” in the past year.

Womack is familiar with the campus, the community, facilities and has deep relationships with the Auburn coaches, especially safeties coach T.J. Rushing.

“(Rushing) knows ball,” Womack said. “He knows how to get to the league, play in the (NFL). He’s close in his faith. Being around a guy who’s close in his faith and he can guide you where you want to go, that’s a great man. That’s a big part of our family … faith is what we live by.

“Our relationship is great. He’s big about relationships and I’m big about that as well. I have gotten to know him and his kids. We play around like we’re big brothers, little brothers. We just continue to create that relationship and build our relationship.”

Womack is the 13th commitment in Auburn’s 2026 class and second safety, joining three-star Wayne Henry from Maryland.

Womack, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, is ranked the No. 21 overall recruit in the Rivals Industry Ranking. He also ranks No. 2 in Mississippi.

With the addition of Womack, Auburn now has commitments from two of the top four overall recruits in Mississippi. Four-star wide receiver Jase Mathewswho ranks No. 4, committed to Auburn on Aug. 8.
