Intermittent Rains Trigger Urban Flooding

Since Tuesday morning, Karachi has witnessed intermittent heavy rainfall. The downpours have resulted in severe urban flooding, submerging low-lying neighborhoods and forcing rainwater into several homes.

M.R. Kiyani Road

The waterlogging has paralyzed traffic movement, leaving thousands of commuters stuck for hours in severe jams.

 

Reported in Wall Collapse Incidents

Rescue authorities have confirmed multiple casualties due to rain-related accidents.

In Block 12 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, four people died after a wall collapsed.

In Orangi Town, Sector 11½, a child was killed in a similar incident.

Death Toll Rises

According to rescue officials, at least five people have lost their lives so far in different rain-related mishaps across the city.
