Dallas defeated Atlanta31-13, Friday in NFL preseason Week 3 Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III started for the Cowboys. He completed 10-of-18 passing attempts for 132 yards and one touchdown. He also recorded 33 rushing yards on four attempts and scored one touchdown.
The former Vol was selected No. 193 overall by New England in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Milton III was traded to Dallas for a fifth-round draft pick during the offseason.
During his rookie season for the Patriots, Milton III appeared in one game. He completed 22-of-29 passing attempts, totaling 241 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 16 yards on seven attempts.
Milton III appeared in 29 games for the Vols from 2021-23. He completed 314-of-498 passing attempts for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and five interceptions, while rushing for 505 yards and nine touchdowns.
The signal-caller transferred to Tennessee from Michigan ahead of the 2021 season.
