The Slovenian national team had its final tune-up ahead of EuroBasket 2025 on Thursday when it took on Serbia in a friendly match. Serbia has a talented team that features three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić, as well as Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat big man Nikola Jovic.
This wasn’t exactly a good game for Slovenia. It fell behind early by a sizable margin and never recovered, as it lost 106-72. But Luka Doncic still managed to produce 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. He struggled with his shooting, going just 4-of-18 overall and 2-of-10 from 3-point range, but he did knock down seven of his nine free throw attempts.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar still had a few highlights during Thursday’s game.
For Serbia, Jovic had 18 points, Bogdanovic scored 14 points and Jokic posted 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Slovenia will now have a week off to prepare for the games that will count. Its first game of group play will take place on Aug. 28 versus Poland, and after that, it will have a back-to-back set of games versus France on Aug. 30 and Belgium on Aug. 31.
